We had such a sweet morning. I could probably say that about many sunrise elopements I’ve had the privilege of capturing. But, this one really stood out to me. I could also easily point to the fact that Zion National Park is one of the most insane places my travels have ever taken me. Such beautiful surroundings combined with two people so obviously in love makes this Zion National Park sunrise elopement one of my favorites.

After meeting Skye and Isaac in the park at around 5am we put headlamps on and packed the dress and suit, then hiked to Canyon Overlook. It was an easy hike that took us about a mile into the park. At sunrise in wintertime the spot was completely empty but also absolutely freezing. Skye is such a tiny woman, so once we got her changed into her dress it was my goal to make sure she stayed warm!

Two Amazing Humans

Even though it was so cold at this sunrise elopement in Zion National Park, these two were such TROOPERS!! We took breaks every couple of minutes to stay warm. Skye was so cute taking a few shots then hopping into her coat and warmers to heat up again! It was such a fun and sweet time watching the two of them just love each other so well. Isaac is Skye’s biggest cheerleader and always hyping (and warming) her up!

The couple read love letters out loud to each other for their vows as the sun rose over the horizon and they just cried together throughout it. Skye and Isaac are so down to earth and never once complained about the cold. These two are just such amazing humans!

One Amazing View

Filled with a love and energy that truly lights up the sky, Skye and Isaac are simply fun people to be around. You can have a fun time with them literally no matter what you’re doing. We shot all morning until the sun started coming up and I imagined what the first person who ever saw this place must have thought.

Did they realize that the place they just possibly stumbled upon would become such a statement landmark for our country? I like to think that whoever was there first sat on the edge, enjoyed the sunset, and thanked Jesus for His creativity. It’s all I wanted to do when I saw it.

An Indescribable Beauty

I really can’t describe the majesty of shooting an elopement at Zion National Park. I’m not even sure where to begin! Canyon Overlook at sunrise is definitely the best bet for a private elopement. It’s so easy to get to and it is more crowded later in the day, especially at sunset. So go at sunrise for your very own intimate canyon overlook elopement!
