I was so honored to spend the weekend with Sophia and Kannon and their families in April of 2025 in Big Sky, Montana for their Luxury Yellowstone Club Wedding.

Big Sky, Montana is a place that if you visit once, you’ll never want to leave. Sophia and Kannon are two people that once you’ve spent about 5 minutes with them you will also never want to leave their side. 

The weekend opened up with a welcome party at Sophia’s aunts house where so many happy tears were shed and I truly felt as if I was a part of their family. The attire was “Western Chic” and the guests really lived up to the expectations! Sophia wore a transformed version of her mom’s wedding dress and it was EVERYTHING.

Sophia and Kannon emit a kind of joy that you don’t see in everyone, and even from my small peek into their lives I could feel the joy that they bring to each other and the light that they bring to every room they walk into! 

Their wedding day was SO fun and personalized to them. April in Montana still has lots of high snow banks, so we were a little limited on where we could go for photos, but we made the most of it and I think it was quite perfect! From a first look and vows in front of the mountains, to riding the ski lift with their wedding party, the newlyweds really made the most of their day.

I shot a mixture of film and digital and it was so fun to see how the light on a rare blue bird day in the spring came out in the scans! The Yellowstone Club is the perfect place for a luxury wedding in Big Sky and what better to capture that than some Portra 400?!

This wedding was a finalist for the Montana Bride Magazine cover, and while it didn’t win, I am super excited that it will be featured in the 2025 print issue that comes out this spring!! You can buy a copy of the magazine here!
